Fade RGB Matrix in Cue List

I'm trying to figure out how to smooth out a "chaser" that goes from a flashy RGB matrix animation to nothing on those fixtures. Ideally it would continue the animation, but fade out the rgb values when I move from that matrix cue to another scene. Right now as soon as I hit next on the cuelist, it blacks out that rgb matrix immediately. Any ideas how to make it fade out instead?

To note - these fixtures don't have an "intensity" channel, only the three rgb channels.

I would love to see the same.

I'm currently working on a theatre production where i have a nighttime scene set on a beach. I am using 3 multi-head rgb light bars at the front of the stage as footlights. I worked out a nice rgb matrix which gives a kindof moonlight reflecting off water effect. I made a collection comprising of my base scene for all the static lamps plus this rgb matrix. But when i put this collection into a cue list with 3sec fade in and out the rgb matrix starts instantly but the other lights fade in properly. And when i go to the next cue the rgb matrix stops instantly but the other lights fade out properly.

I have a few other cues where i would love to see an rgb matrix fade in and out properly. The only way it seems i can do this is by assigning a fader and manually doing the fades by hand.

I hope I'm not missing something obvious.

John.

Hi Guys,

You could try using the loop back system, and use a generic channel to control the manual fader.

Thanks for the reply.

Can you explain in a bit more detail about how to do this please?

Ok, I will try.

In the input/output tab, select a universe (e.g. 4) that you are not using and select it's output as Loopback 1.

On another universe (e.g. 1) select the same Loopback as an input.

On the fixtures tab create a generic fader on the universe you have used as the output. (e.g. universe 4 channel 1)

Create a Scene with your generic fader all the way up, and set the fade in / out times as required.

On the Virtual console create an animation control for you RGB matrix. In it's properties, for the "Slider external input" press choose and select the universe you selected for Loopback input (e.g. 1) and double click to enter the channel number (e.g. 1).

One more button to control the Scene and you are away.

I have attached an example File.

Thanks so much for this. I will try it out next week when I have some spare time after the current show has finished.

I'll let you know how I get on.
