Having issue, device or software?

Greetings, I am new here, I have been using my lights with a hardware controller for years. I finally am getting into computer DMX control. I am using a DMXKing micro usb interface. So far the software an videos have been very helpful. I have created scenes and fixture profiles. I have set up on 2 Chauvet colorstrip minis and one Chauvet Swarm 4 so far just to get started. I have created some simple scenes with just these 3 fixtures. Now the issue I am having is when I go to the console and start to use the buttons my scene settings go crazy, one light will stay on that is not used in a scene and then others will not come back on when the scene they are used in is selected. If I go back t the funtions area to check my scene settings some of them no longer respond at all? My laptop is Windows 7, 8gb ram, intel core i5.

Hi,

please post your qlc+ version and ideally also the workspace and how to reproduce the error.

You can tell if the problem is in the QLC+ itself or in the device plugin by checking DMX monitor. If the numbers are OK, the problem is in the output stage. If the numbers are wrong, then either there is a bug in QLC+ or the scenes/buttons have a problem.

Also note that LTP channels do not return to zero automatically - you have to set it yourself. In your case, most probably all your channels are LTP. If you don't know what LTP is, check glossary in online help, or google "latest takes precedence".

Thank for the reply. I am using version 4.6.1 I did watch the dmx monitor during a few scene changes and I do see values going to the Swarm 4 when that fixture is not used in that scene. I looked up information about LTP, how do I check what setting I am currently using and how do I change that setting? Thanks again.

Intensity (dimmer and primary colors - R/G/B and C/M/Y + white and amber) are HTP, everything else is LTP. In your case, only the blue channel for Colorstrip is HTP.

To make them all HTP you have to edit fixture definitions, turn all channels to Intensity, or use generic dimmer definition for the fixtures.

Alternatively, create scenes to reset each fixture and use them in collections with the normal scenes.

Thanks for you help. I am narrowing it down, I have spoken with DMXking and ran some tests and the dongle is fine. The issue appears to be with the Chaucer swarm 4. I have eliminated some of the glitches in some of the scenes. I had to add the swarm to scenes it was not used in and black it out. This has helped. When it acts up now is when I run a scene in which the swarm is stringing, when I switch to another scene the fixture will remain Strobbing and ignore the setting in the next scene. St robbing is controlled with channel 3. Any ideas? I read up on htp and LTP, but still not sure on how to set them.

I have solved this issue I think. I had to go into my scenes and for each scene I created regardless if that scene used the Swarm 4 fixture or not I had to select that fixture and black it out and also set the strobe channel to zero. This seems to be working.

I apologise as this looks to be partly my fault. I built the original colorstrip mini profile for QLC and I actually set the channels up incorrectly when I made the definition back then. I'm going to rebuild that definition and send it to Massimo for the next update. Sorry about that. Can't speak for the other defs, but the colors trip one was bad on me for the channel types.
