Step tap function

I am a DJ/ audio engineer.. been using qlcplus for my lighting system and am very pleased with its well thought out design and flexibility.. i started out using an LSC Scene Setter 24 and am presently using it in tandem with qlc as a midi controller.. the improvements in the audio trigger are very intuitive..however the scene setter's audio trigger doesnt just control a timer it actually controls steps per beat. i set the audio trigger via a direct tap from the kick drum out of the audio mixer and thus the lighting mixer sends a midi note to the duration tap in qlc.. my quarry is that instead of a duration tap can i control each step of a chase with the beat rather than a time duration tap.. in essence the step is dependent on each tap rather than the time between each tap ... kick = step not time between???
