Gpio as output with max 485

HI,

i work now on a Projekt like on this link:

In this example the Teensy recieve the artnet signal and give that over the TX-Pin to an max 485 and after that over DMX to the lamps. The script is an basic C++ Skript but it is optimized for the teensy and for the teensy pins.

but i dont use a teensy because i had an RPI at home. I biuld an modul were is an optokopler and an Max 485 ,so i can plug it on the gpios like on the Projekt in the link. I dont tried the skript because i found no module in c++ were i can control the Gpios. After i resaerch much i found Qlc plus but now i have some questions:

Can i use this module with the max485 with QLC?
Can QLC work with this or is it not possible?
Or is it better to by an teensy and work with this?

If anyone will answer me i will be very happy.
If anyone had a better softwaresolution for my hardware than i will be happy too if you share it.
