Scene's Forget values after software restart

I'm new to QLC+, have read all the documentation, and have watched the couple hours of YouTube tutorials on the software. I'm running into a problem that just does not make sense to me, and am at wit's end, so hopefully someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Here's what I've done:
1) Setup two LED RGB par can fixtures in the software (mine are cheap graci-lite fixtures, created a definition of them using the fixture editor, and they work well in QLC+).
2) Imported an audio file
3) Created a scene with both RGB fixtures were selected and set to 'Red'. Lights respond properly during editing of the scene.
4) Created an identical scene as the one above, but set the color to 'Blue'.
5) Created a couple of other color scenes, including 'Green' and 'Pink'. I only mention this because of a symptom I am having later.
6) In the Show Manager, I created a new show, and imported the audio track I loaded in step 2 into it.
7) I created a sequence, and added the 'Red' scene as the first step, holds its duration for 575ms, added the 'Blue' scene as a 2nd step, also for 575ms, and repeated this process for about 20 steps.
8) When I put QLC into playback mode and run it, the lights behave as expected. Awesome. I re-enter edit mode, save the show, exit the software and call it a day.
-- Fast forward approx 15 hours ---
I return to QLC+ and load the show.
I switch to the show manager, put the software in playback mode, and hit play. NOTHING HAPPENS WITH THE LIGHTS. They are on but not changing from Red/Blue like yesterday. I go back into edit mode.
I go to the function editor tab, select the 'Red' scene, and the lights do NOT turn on there, either. I check the sliders on each tab, and ALL of them are set to zero. I remember what channels I had selected to manipulate for each scene, but they are all zero. The same is true for the Blue scene. I slide the sliders back to where they should be (Dimmer @ 255, Blue @ 255 for the Blue scene, and Dimmer @ 255 and Red @ 255 for the Red Scene). The lights respond as expected.
I go back to the show, enter playback mode, press play, and the lights and sequence happens properly.
ODDLY, scenes that are NOT used in a show (sequence) remember the DMX values per channel, and when I click into the scene while in edit mode, they respond correctly, which leads me to believe it's something I'm doing wrong when I setup the sequence... but I honestly have no idea what that may be.
This happens EVERY time I restart the software. Scenes that are used in a sequence that is used in a show have all of their channel values set back to zero. Every time. I've even created a new show file and the result is the same.
I'm running QLC+ 4.10.4.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Ian
