SPI only sending signal when disabled then enabled

Hey i've got a single ws8201 on the SPI bus and its only sending a value when the universe two SPI output is disabled then enabled
and even after that its not changing the value at all

Has anyone had this issue? Pi 4

Magic happens when you don't give more details...

How did you connect, where does the SPI-clock come from, How did you configure QLC+, how did you enable SPI, what settings are used, ...
Smells like hardware issues because of software - interface errors.
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore
