Show programming - how to trigger a scene and leave it hang (not reset colors and fader when scene ends)

I'm a newbie, trying to program a song. There is an audio file (which I will mute for live performance) I can't figure out how to do a light show ina simple way. I want to throw in specific scenes at specific times on a track and have them stay on until the next one is triggered. I want to trigger cue points for scenes so for example, back pars would turn green and stay that way for a few measures, then turn blue etc. It doesn't work out for me:

1. Scene only works for specific duration it is set to, and it's set in time, not beats. Do I really have to keep guessing the duration of each scene so it cuts off in exactly the same moment as the next scene (on another track) begins? I have a complicated swow in mind, in beat with the song. How can I program just the changes, so the lights are left at the settings scene sets them at, and not go black after the scene ends? I tried it with sequences and chasers - same thing. If I adjust timing, each one created a new instance of the sequence - but I need to change them 1 hundred times per show, it doesn't make sense. I want to just use one setting and que it in at specific points, not having to time every single one separately (especially that there is no dragging clip edges)

2. When I insert a scene in a show, it creates a new track for each scene. why can't I put scenes on a single track? Tracks pile up very fast.

3. When I insert a scent in a show, that scene disappears from the functions! I want to reuse scenes often. What's happening?

It looked great on tutorials, but it's turning out to be a bit og nightmare for me. I hope I'm just doing something wrong. I'm using latest QLC+ 4.12.2

Did you try LTP instead of HTP?
With LTP you have to give the command to switch off a light...
All electric machines work on smoke... when the smoke escapes... they don't work anymore

Yes, and it looks promising. Waiting for USB interface to test on real lights. LTP/HTP description is very confusing, as it doesn't say that LTP is not shutting off but HTP does, when scene or chaser end. Or at least I couldn't fin this info. But I figured it's worth to try and it looks like I solved the issue with a combination of EFX and changing channels on all lights from HTP to LTP. Not sure it's the way it's supposed to work, but at least now I can trigger a scene (I have to pit it in a chaser as apparently each scene will add its track for some reason, and will be deleted if track is deleted) and then it stays this way with LTP

An explanation about the use of scenes and sequences in shows and why when using a scene in a show it is hidden. Changes were introduced in QLC+ 4.11.0.
