Hello everyone ,
I'm planning on installing the qlc+ package proposed by massimo on my pi 3 b+.
My question is will i be able to install and use some other software?
I'm thinking of qjackctl and giada, which I use to run audio during my show.
Thank you
qlc along with other softwares on pi

Hi everyone, you can run QLC + with such parameters to run the program in a normal window (not in fullscreen). I haven't found any option yet. I use the VNC viewer to control the program, but I don't see it on the remote desktop after running QLC +.
In previous releases, setup with -platform xcb worked.

Hi Stefan,
I would suggest maybe just using the built in audio features, and use a different raspberry pi for other software line giada.
Work out how to use the MIDI and OSC features of QLC+ to get them to talk.
You can install other software on the raspberry, but anything else you add could break it! For under $50, getting a different unit is pretty cost effective and may save you many hours of time trying to fix something on QLC+
Hope this helps.

Hi Scully,
You can't use VNC with QLC+ on raspberry pi. Don't even try it. It won't work - there is no X11 (the windows system). It's impossible to work. Also there is no need as there is a web interface to connect to it - http://IP:9999/
You shouldn't use the pi to edit shows etc - just use it to run them after you have made them on a desktop computer.
If you must have screen access, then you can use an old screen, keyboard and mouse, or just use an old iPad or other tablet and connect via the browser to http://IP:9999/

I had a problem when I was at a show this last weekend. Everything worked fine from my house. But when I loaded everything at the venue, QLC+ was having issues with some of the universes. I wanted a way to remote into QLC+ and visually verify everything in QLC+ directly. The web interface, while great, does not give a lot of options in the inputs/outputs area for ensuring items are loaded correctly.
Is there no way to remote into the pi for a visual reference of QLC+?

I will go ahead and answer my own question. Yes VNC does work, using QVNC. I use it to change some small changes in inputs/outputs as needed. Resolution is small, but is workable for my needs.
