McLaren Labs rtpmidi for Linux was developed for musicians to send MIDI events over ethernet between computers on their network. One of our customers contacted us and said he had an aging Mac running QLC and wanted to replace it with an inexpensive computer running Lubuntu and QLC. It turns out that McLaren Labs rtpmidi works fine and is suiting his purposes well.

In his set up, he uses a Mac to present images and control lighting via MIDI commands. MIDI commands are sent over the network from the Mac's built-in Network-MIDI to the Lubuntu computer running our 'rtpmidi' and QLC+.

QLC and lighting control is not an application we had thought of before, but it seems our product is a good solution in this set up! So we're sharing it here.
