>>Can you please try the following:
Change the apc40.qxm file from the miditemplates folder to have the 08 04 01 version and see if this works from QLC+
What do you mean by this?
APC 20 and APC 40 controller

When QLC+ is installed in c:\QLC+ there should be a file called APC40.qxm in the folder c:\QLC+\MidiTemplates.
Open that file with notepad and change the following:
Into this:
Does this make any sense?
Open that file with notepad and change the following:
Code: Select all
<InitMessage>F0 47 00 73 60 00 04 41 09 00 05 F7</InitMessage>
Code: Select all
<InitMessage>F0 47 00 73 60 00 04 41 08 04 01 F7</InitMessage>

Hi All,
This is my first post on the forum, my band has been using QLC for about a month now, fabulous software!!!
I've been going through many different posts regarding the APC20 and 40 controller feedbacks on Windows. I monitored the sysex messages and MIDI back to the Akai APC20, the init message seems to be sent correctly. I could not get the feedback to work until I accidentally stumbled upon the following. Here are the steps I take to make the feedback work, can anyone explain why?
-Open QLC, set the Akai APC20 input device init message to APC20 Ableton mode 2, set APC20 output device init message to mode 2 as well.
-Close QLC
-Open QLC, leave APC20 input device init set to mode 2, but now change APC20 output device init back to 'None'.
-Close QLC
-Open QLC, feedback now works. When I assign a button on the APC20 to a button on my Virtual Console, the button on the APC20 lights up when that button/chase is active on the Virtual Console.
Any ideas on why this makes the feedback work? From what i was reading in various posts on the forum, it seems that things work ok on Mac but not Windows?
Thanks!
-Jack
