Hello everybody
I have a problem with my DMX king edmx 1 Artnet interface.
So far it has been working really great.
But today i tried to work with it and i noticed that according to the two LED lights on the device, there is a network activity but there is no DMX output.
I tried several DMX fixtures and two macbook pro's runing the latest version of QLC+
The device is recognized by QLC+ and the "output" box is checked in the "input/output" tab.
Am i doing something wrong or is this interface no longer supported?
I'll try to get my hands on anoter dmxking interface next week but in the meantime, i really wish somebody could give me a hint.
Cheers
No DMX output with DMXking edmx1
"So far it has been working really great."
Meaning ? Has something changed between "so far" and "today" ?
Can you provide a small network trace of the traffic between your computer and the eDMX1 ?
Tonight I'll test with my eDMX2 and report back if I find any issue.

Hi and thanks for the answers.
I'm using the latest version. I simply downloaded the dmg.
Sorry for my lack of precision for the first sentance. I think that the last time i used it was 2 versions ago. I tried the 4.7.3 but the problem stays. I should test it with even earlier versions.
Thanks for the help

I tried to read it. Not sure i understood everything but i'll try to download the custom version proposed by the user.
@Eddy: the eDMX1 is an ArtNet ethernet-DMX adapter. It has nothing to do with the FTDI topic you linked. Please don't make confusion.
@Frankie: I'm afraid you spotted a bug. A while ago, a user said that QLC+ should output ArtNet universes with the same number of the QLC+ universes, so I made a change to make them start from 1.
This is NOT OK for the DMXKing adapters, as they accept data for universes ID starting from 0.
I checked on my eDMX2 (2 outputs) and QLC+ universe 1 actually goes on the second port of the adapter instead of on the first.
I am sorry for this but you need to use version 4.7.0 until I fix this, which most likely will happen with the next release.

Ok thank you for your answers everybody!
@Massimo: I was begining to think about that. Maybe i can try to access the settings of my eDMX1 and get it to be on a different port. I'll try that or i'll wait until the next release which i hope is gonna get out before my next gig

I'm stupid, if i change the universe on the eDMX1, there will still be one universe offset.
Well, it's not that stupid. I tried to do it as well on my eDMX2 but I couldn't figure out how to do it.
If you succeed, you just need to set your eDMX1 to accept data on universe 1 (or the one you'll be using with QLC+) and it should start working.
Please let me know if you manage to do it.
In the meantime I'm improving the ArtNet plugin configuration to associate a specific ArtNet universe ID to the QLC+ ArtNet IO lines.

OK, that was super easy.
With the DMXKing eDMX Configuration tool:
- discover your adapter.
- go to the "Port 1" page and change the "Universe" field from 1____ to 2____
- click on the "Update" button
The eDMX will start working with QLC+ !

Brilliant! I'll do that tonight. I'll just have to steal my roommate PC
Thank you very much for your answers and for your amazing software!

Thanks Massimo,
you saved my day! After Updating to QLC+ 4.7.4 on OS X 10.9.4 my Enttec Open DMX Ethernet stops working.
The solve was changing the Universe from 0 to 1 with Enttecs NMU-Utillity. May be this helps others with the same interface.
Regards,
Heiko

No problem Heiko.
Please keep in mind though that I reverted this 0/1 stupid change, so the next QLC+ releases will behave like the previous "working" ones (so you'll have to switch back to universe 0)
