This is a question that's basically directed to Massimo, but only because I noticed that he built the fixture definition for a similar light. If anyone else has input, that would be great too. Basically I have a question about the American DJ Sweeper Beam. I recently posted the fixture def here:
http://sourceforge.net/p/qlcplus/discus ... /1143ace9/
Now that I've gone to use it, I've encountered an issue. What I'd like to be able to do is to use the RGB matrix function to make patterns for this light. Unfortunately, because of the weird combination of features that makes up this light, I can't really figure out how to do this. If I need to hack around it by making a couple of fixture definitions, I can definitely do that, but if anyone else has figured out a way to deal with this that I'm missing, I'd love to hear it!
Question about strange fixture
Hi George, well you need to add the fixture using a mode with the 8 heads.
Then add it to a new group.
Use that group in the RGB Matrix editor with (for example) the "full columns" preset.
Then run the matrix. If you don't see anything you probably have to:
- manually raise the dimmer channel with the simple desk
- edit your fixture definition and for each head specify also the dimmer channel

Massimo,
That is exactly what I thought and what I expected to see when I did this, but QLC+ is only seeing these as a single head if the animation in the RGB matrix window is correct. I've attached a few screenshots to illustrate my point. Is it possible that I have encountered a bug?
Oh, I should mention that I'm only basing this on what I'm seeing in QLC+ as I haven't actually hooked this fixture up yet (planning on doing that later tonight to make sure that what I'm seeing isn't just an error in the UI).

George,
the problem is that you marked your dimmer channels as white color. Though technically right, RGB matrices don't support white channels. I've fixed the fixture in git (just delete all lines with White in any text editor).
Note: the master dimmer channel should not carry any color information anyway.
I suppose that you'll have to manage the master dimmer outside of RGB Matrix, but I may be wrong. I'll check this later.

Jano,
That's what I get for trying to make things perfect Thanks for the help, it's all sorted out and working correctly now!
