Systemcommand leaves processes behind

Hi All
I am experimenting with using systemcommand to control other software (on Linux). Some of it calls a specific program with parameters and others call a bash script (also with parameters) which in turn calls other programs and scripts.
What I have noticed is that all the calls remain as processes until QLC+ is closed. If I run top in a terminal while QLC+ is running then they show up, by the truck loads. When I close QLC+ they remain for a short while and then disappears.
If I run the same ones multiple times from the command line then they terminate normally.
I am not sure if this is causing a problem of any kind.
