Moved my system to a raspberry Pi 3. When SD card switched over the Raspberry Pi 3 showed a Rainbow screen. Solved it from this blog pagehttps://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=138163
After running apt-get update and apt-get upgrade the start.elf file also had to be replaced from https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware ... /start.elf and then all was well.
