Non-LED, 1 channel Fixtures

Hi all,

Very new to this software but I'm keen to jump in at the deep end as hiring a desk is old fashioned and expensive!

I've bought an Enttec USB-DMX widget to control lights for a simple touring show I'm stage managing soon. I want to use QLC+ as I'm hoping to integrate LX and AV control in QLab. I've got the USB-DMX hooked up and working with a 6 channel dimmer in QLC+ BUT...I'm struggling to find any fixtures in the preset list that resemble the simple 1 channel, strand style lights of old that we'll be using on the tour. It seems like QLC+ is all about LEDs and movers...

We'll be touring 6 fresnels for a few different coloured washes, 2 profiles for side lighting and maybe a few birdies as footlights. I hope to tour 2 dimmer packs, if not I'll pair down the washes and the side lights.

Am I missing a trick? Do I just need to add generic 1 channel fixtures or a generic 6 channel fixture and label and control each channel accordingly, or are there fixture presets for standard fresnels, profiles etc that I've missed? I've mainly used non LED Strand lights in the past (I'm based in the UK), but there isn't a strand section in the fixture list that I can see.

Any help and advice will be much appreciated

Thanks

Jack

Yes.

Both are possible. Have you tried ?

That's exactly what we have to do to control our Strand lights - add a generic dimmer, specify the number of channels and the start address. Works like a charm. :D
