Q Light Controller+

Hi.

Am new to QLC+ on the Raspberry Pi, having used it on Windows 7. With Windows 7 I was able to use an Afterglow Magic USB DMX cable. However I'm not sure if QLC+ on a Raspberry Pi will detect it and install drivers. Can someone please advise?

Windows Device Manager says "Device USB\VID_0403&PID_D9B9\NGWWBQC4 was configured"

The Raspberry Pi runs Linux, not Windows.

However, I'd expect that if your adapter works in Windows, I see no reason why it shouldn't work on Linux.
Those VID/PID are a bit weird though. VID seems to be FTDI, but that PID shouldn't be recognized by QLC+...

Yup, got that already. In fact just ordered myself a Pi 3 yesterday. Should be with me in 3-4 days.

I've hunted around on the interwebs abou this device and whilst there's Win7 drivers there are no Win10 drivers. Yup, I u/g'd to Windows 10. But I seem to recall that FTDI have a utility that can write to the EEPROM on the FTDI chip. Is it worth doing that to set the chip back to an FTDI PID or is it just not worth it?

I guess that if the PID is added to the list, it might work. I also guess that Afterglow manufacturer bought USB ID from FTDI, so that they don't have to register for separate VID.
