Simultaneous sound effects

Having bitten the bullet, got my DMX interface and begun learning to use QLC+, I have found a partial workaround to one of my needs - running several sound cues simultaneously. I have created several cue lists, in this case one for music tracks, one for overlay tracks and one for ambience tracks. It is a bit of a manumatic operation, but I can start the music tracks playing and let them sequence through. I can then use the changeover sliders to take the sound level down while I start the recorded announcement - in the overlay cue list - at the beginning of the show, and then slide the music fader back up to restore its level - see attached screenshot. I can also at the same time play an ambience track, using the slider to set its level, but there is an issue here.
If I try to loop the ambience track using the cue list settings, the next time round it comes back at full volume, ignoring the fader settings. My initial solution is just to re-save the track at a lower level, but it is difficult then to set levels on the night. I have the option of using Multiplay instead, and I would like to get QLC+ to control Multiplay, but Multiplay can only send MIDI, not receive.
Here QLC+ is running on Windows 7 64 bit. Because of the limitations of my old package my laptop is still Windows XP, but I will report back on how this scheme works there.
Thought for the future - extend the Audio functions to include level fade functions, pan functions etc - unless there is a way of doing this that I've missed!
Out of interest, for this small theatre I am operating 5 RGBW LED pars and 6 old Furse fresnels. The main colour washing and stage LX is with the LED's, while the Fresnels supply cross lighting with gels to help lift the performer's faces, no matter what colours I'm using on the LEDs. Once I'm a bit further along I'll start a thread about workflows, because the one thing I find about any software manual is that they all tell you what each individual function does, but not how you can use them together!
