Q Light Controller+

I've been trying, on & off, for over a year to get QLC+ working on linux (ubuntu) with my arduinos uno & mega2560 & with a usb to rs-485 converter device but the devices don't show up in the USB DMX inputs/outputs list.
Has anyone actually been able to get QLC+ to recognize any of the devices stated above or do i have to buy an off the shelf device to get it to work?

I really want to use this software...but it's driving me CRAZY!

Can you post link to the usb-485 converter + any available programming information + USB ids (use lsusb)?
Ubuntu version? Architecture (x86? x64?)

with the arduinos using DMXSimple & DMXSerial libraries.

i guess it's the ch341 chip that is not supported

arduino dropped their ftdi chip too with the uno & mega2560.

that would explain the length of time i've been trying to get this device to work.

confirmed problem is with ch340 usb to serial chip.

ftdi usb to rs-485 arrived today & was instantly found under inputs/outputs > DMX USB as [FT232R USB UART (S/N: A50285BI)]

this is gonna be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
