Not remembering channel group levels

I seem to be having a problem with scenes losing their channel group levels, the individual channels save their setting but the groups all go to Zero when I exit and relauch the program. What am I missing? I'm just using some basic dimmers and a few Chauvet par 64s
Windows 10 64
QLC+ 4.10
Attached is my project file

I've had the same issue when I use a scene in a show. It messes up the whole scene with setting the levels to 0 every time you open QLC+.
The work around that I've been using is to never use a scene in a show time line. I just make a chaser with the scene and put it in the time line. Its a bit of a pain in the butt, however it makes it really easy to change the timing around.
Also putting a RGB matrix in a show mess's up the timing for the newly placed matrix’s. The fix is to just change the matrix and the timing fixes. For example changing the matrix from single to loop then back to single fixs the matrix timing.

I am having the same problem, but I'm not using shows at all. I can't figure it out.

I reported a similar issue several weeks ago.
"Don't use scenes" Isn't really a valid workaround since scenes are just as useful and sometimes necessary when implementing certain lighting effects and lining them up with their respective audio cues.

The problem here is similar to fixtures in scene with no active channels: They are not saved at all.
Currently only <fixture, channel, value> triplets are saved. Channel groups work only as means to "pull several faders with one", i.e. like macros.
To fix your problem, state of channel groups needs to be saved as well (whoever adds this code may also add code to store selected fixtures).

I've just had the same issue in 4.10.2b, so it doesn't appear to be fixed. Remove fixture from the channel group and it then starts saving ok again.

I've the same problem, the work around is first setting the channels to use in the scene, save it. re-open the show and then change the values, then it is possible to edit the values of the channels.

Hi all.
Just install QLC+ today and came across the same issue.
Any improvement expected ?
Need to know whether I buy an Enttec USB interface or not.
I am actually playing with a DIY interface witch for fine so far but I'll prefer a other one.

This issue is already fixed in QLC+ sources, the fix will be included in QLC+ 4.10.3.

I don't understand what this has to do with the issue discussed in this thread.

Great. Many Thks for the info.
I will buy the enttec USB interface so.
I didn't want to spend money in the interface without being sure that the bug would be fixed one day, that's what I meant in my last message
The DIY USB to DMX works well but for a pro use the enttec is better IMHO.
EDIT:
I took the time to go across almost all the forum, trying to better know the history of QLC+ and I realise better now all the work that was done on this FREE soft (and that is going on) so may I thank you again (all the developers) for the job.
I also took part in some FREE soft development in the past and I know that some thanks are always appreciated.
It is also cool to find a DMX soft with an active and responsive community of users behind.

I have a lot of scenes in my show, music sync with light and each time I open my saved file to work on I need to reset the channel of about half of the scenes.
It very random and I just cant get around it.
I have a show at the very beginning of march and a lot of scenes still to be created.
So I was wondering if the new 4.10.3 with the save issue fix could be output at that time or if it will be later.
Just for info, in order to organize myself.
Thanks.
EDIT: I found the 4.10.3 20160120 TEST in the forum, I will make a test session tonight.
EDIT2: 4.10.3 20160120 TEST works fine, no saving issues
Only the scenes created with the 4.10.02b still have the issue. I will create new ones.

Well well well, same issue came back with the 4.10.3 20160120 TEST.
Some scenes loose their channel setting all set to zero. Not all the channel.....
I am lost...
Can somebody reassure me ?
Also, the order of the fixture in the function TAB seems to be save in the wrong order.
Here is how it came when I reopen my saved file (it should be 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 and it is 5/6/7/8/1/2/3/4) making more hard to reset my lost channel setting
)

This should not happen. Can you share a faulty workspace file ? Thank you.

Hi.
I have deleted all the workspace that had been created with the 4.10.02b
Here is a workspace done with the 4.10.03 20160120 TEST with the same save issue.
And here is a workspace that I also created with the 4.10.03 TEST, called "basics" with a set of generic scene I created for all my show.
That workspace have NO saving issue.
The only difference between those 2 worspace is that the first (called "cabaret de noel") have several shows programmed.
My first analysis is that ALL and ONLY the scenes used to program the "cabaret de noel" loose their channel after saving.
If that can help you.
win 10, enttec openDMX, 8 flood LED 150 stairville.

Hello,
I've tested both workspaces and found no issue. Can you point me which scenes from 'cabaret de noël' present an issue, and exact steps that will allow me to notice an issue ? Thank you.
Also a minor correction:
willmodelisme wrote:4.10.03
this is QLC+4.10.3 TEST, not QLC+4.10.3. QLC+4.10.3 is not out yet. It's better to know which exact version is being used.

You're right, I'll edit my post.
Here is an example of scene not lighting up in a show:
-show "les jolies cloches", scene RVB, "nouvelle séquence 20" no light.
When i go to check under the scene channel setup, all is at zero.
I am pretty sure I'm doing something wrong.

This is not a channel group level issue. Channel group values are saved OK.
You have to select a sequence step before editing the values if you want the values to be saved (but I'm not an expert of the show manager, I may be wrong)

Indeed, channels are well saved.
I stll encounter some wierd behaviour of the show editor but it must be my mistakes.
For exemple, the flash button or the slider in the virtual console and linked with a "BLANC" scene will work only after that this scene is played in a show...
I will keep on familiarising with that amazing software.
