Here you can buy USB-RS485-WE-1800-BT (original FTDI) for 19€ at the moment.
I've bought 2 and got them today. In my opinion a great deal.

QLC is recognizing the cable and showing its serial (mainly because its an FTDI 232 chip, right?)
Sadly i've no fixtures at hand ... so the real test cant be started.

If they are original FTDI cables they will work. I have 2 of these baught from FTDI webshop.
At least tested OK on Windows XP, 7 and 8.1
As any other cheap USB-DMX cable they don't have galvanic Isolation. If you are Aware of this and know how to handle, all should be OK.
