Including new functions in QLC+

Hey developers or anyone who has done this already,
How would I go about implementing a new function in QLC+, as far as programming goes? For example, if I wanted to make a slider control the frequency at which a channel's value fluctuates between 0-255, what files would I need to add code to to do this? I don't really need any guidance as far as C++ or QT goes (although I am a beginner with both). I guess you could just say I am lazy, because I don't feel like reading through all of the code
There are a few different things I would like to try out, and I would be happy to share them with others, but I just don't know where to start. I am hoping to write enough code to where I can physically interface my idea with a button/slider/label/etc. in QLC+.
Thanks!
