Midi triggering of shows

Hi,
I'm pretty new to QLC+ and am setting up for my small band, using a MacbookPro and EnttecUSBtoDMX. All going fine, lots of working scenes, chases etc. I am also making Shows for the songs in which we use backing tracks (with click), I am succeeding in creating synched audio/lighting.
All good so far.
Now I am about to add a MidiMoose footcontroller, to switch scenes live from the stage, and although I don't think that will be any issue for scenes, I think I may have a problem with Midi triggering of Shows (via Virtual Console). My concern is that once a show is triggered and running, any accidental operation of the footcontroller would cut the audio backing track and click – mid-song disaster! (we often play with the audience right up in front, so an accidental click by band or crowd is inevitable one day).
My simple question is this: Can the Midi input be disabled in any way (could it be programmed into the Show perhaps?) for either the duration of the Show, or otherwise a fixed time?
My only other option is to hardwire an inline switch between footcontroller and Midi interface, to manually disable it, but that's not very elegant and I don't know if that would automatically re-set the Midi input once switched back on.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Graham
