how to hold 1 channel and later fade in another with a cue list

Hi Everyone,
I'm working with a small theater and trying to use QLC+ to make our lighting easier.
I have defined a single fixture with 12 dimmers since we have a single 12 channel dimmer pack.
I created various scenes, added them to a chaser and added the chaser to a Cue list on the virtual console.
The chaser has infinite holds, so we can manually step between them based on live cues.
Mostly this works great.
I have once case where I want to turn on channel 3, and then at a later time fade up channel 4 while 3 stays at the previous setting.
Since previous scenes are turned off when I advance in the cue list, I don't know how to do this. Any suggestions?
One other thing that would be great for our application is to be able to put audio/video functions into a chaser, but have them not affect the DMX output when queued.
Right now I either have to create a collect of the light scene + audio function, or create a separate chaser/cue list for audio. A single cue list would make it easier to run our show live.
Thanks for the great application, I hope someone can point out a solution that I missed.
