Controlling with midi from another Mac

Hey guys, I'm a little new to QLC+ and this forum so forgive me if this is a stupid question....and I accidentally posted this in the wrong place the first time.....
I'm running QLC+ on an iMac to control my lighting for live shows. I'm also running a Macbook to run ProPresenter with lyrics and environmental projection. ProPresenter can send Midi Notes and using the Midi studio on the Macs I'm able to send Midi from the Macbook to the iMac but I'm not able to get QLC+ to recognize the incoming Midi. Is there any source for more information about this. I've been through the tutorials, but I'm not having much luck.
My end goal is to have to everything (lyrics, environmental projection, lighting) all be driven by the person operating one Mac. This avoids many complications for me and I'm very close to having this work. Just one hang up here, any advice would be appreciated.
