Strip lights multi-head

Hello,

I have 4 Chauvet Colorband Pix-M lights.

I run QLC+ on windows 7 and on the Rpi 2 version is 4.8.5.

The Colorband Pix-M has 12 RGB 3 watt LEDs

3 DMX channels Per LED
It has Tilt and depending on what mode you have dimmer and so forth.

The issue is this to make it work properly you have to set it up as a 12 Head Fixture.

This Causes Issue with the function wizard in 2 ways.

1. When it creates the color channels it only does so for 1 of the LED heads and not all on 1.
EX: All but the last LED channels are disabled in the scene.

2. When you go to create the RGB matrix it does not get created properly it only creates it as a 4 fixture 4x1 instead of a 48x1.
Function Wizard is completely ignoring multi head.
And If you do 1 Fixture It won't even create any rgb scripts for it even though it has 12 heads.

3. Since it has tilt trying to add it to EFX can be difficult you have to select the head that has movement channel on it.
EFX when adding fixtures should only add the head that has movement not all heads.
The Movement channel in this case I have it attached to head 1 even-though it would be good to have on its own head.

Hello Icslouis,

Im new to QLC but it seams to me to solve your issue you simply need to write a fixture profile for your light.

Write it as one fixture with all the channel info in for every channel include dimmers, movement ect.

QLC will then see it as one unit instead of 12 x RGB heads.

If you already have a profile edit it and save it as a new file.

Regards
Alex

Hi,

lcslouis, please share the fixture definition you're using so we can more easily find the source of the issues :)

I reproduced the problem (I suppose 48x1 matrix size is typo, it should be 12x1).

1. EFX for moving bars: I suppose you want to have global tilt, and since no heads have individual tilts, only the whole fixture should be selectable rather than the the heads
2. for multihead fixtures, function wizard include only the last head in the scenes

Hi,

I would say the fixture only has one head or is it that you want an LED matrix?

Again, please share your fixture.

Thanks

Hello,

@Jano the light matrix is for a single fixture is 12x1 but when using 4 is 48x1

After I edited all the scenes and and groups the fixture works flawlessly.

I'll be posting a video hopefully after sunday on a gig of me using them.

Thanks, issues reproduced here too.

- Heads not containing pan or tilt channel could be filtered out of the efx fixture selection, I'll have a look at it.

- The functions wizard issues will involve more reflection.
