Hi again,
If at all possible, i would love a remote control application, and a "server mode" for the regular application.
The "server" would then send the Virtual Console setup to the "client/remote" and let it control DMX output.
Please try to implement this, as it would be awesome!
Remote control
Hi, there's something going on for the next release.
Now tell me in details, how would you imagine/use it ?

if I can tell my opinion, a server mode can work only if QLC+ can run in a very little hardware, with an hardware dmx output, if the location is on tour.
if the location is stable, a computer that run only QLC+ and is optimized for it could be good.
I can figure a dmx box with a lil computer like raspberry pi inside, that run a daemon that receive the qlc+ inputs from a client istance that works like an interface builder and controller. The box can receive the show file and run it with or without a remote controll, or receive scene change signals from some other hardware device like a button, a midi signal, an ir signal or more (the raspberry pi got a GPIO interface that support RS232, RS485, I2C and SPI bus... with a good shield probably can receive or use every kind of signals)
for a show like a martial demostration or a little dance exibition could be perfect, running the dmx controll and the audio files too together.
to be completely remotable would have an app for portable devices that work like a full controll client, not only a remote virtual consolle like we can got now with OSC inputs.
ok big dreams but could be possible... or I'm wrong?

hey... do you still need a raspberry pi and a BFC2000 to work on the new features??
I got them at home, unutilized for now...

Thank you but I already have all I need. Another user donated a Raspberry to the project.
It's a long way to it, but I'm slowly getting closer

What I have tested (but not in performance) is a raspberry pi connected to a network and controlling via Artnet. On the Pi I had a DMX king USB device and the QLC+ was connected via Wifi.
There is an OLA (artnet on raspberry pi) build. This seemed very stable (left it running overnight) with low cpu consumption. Power is a bit of an issue, but if you use a PiHub you should be fine.
See: http://www.opendmx.net/index.php/OLA_Raspberry_Pi
So the control remains in the hands of my laptop running QLC+
I am thinking of this to control a few outside fixtures.
