A feature I thought of that could help in shows is multiple external inputs instead of just one on any function, slider, knob, etc... The ability to have like 3 or 4 inputs even on GM.
I use touchOSC, BCF 2000, touchscreen monitor, and keyboard at times for control I would like to be able to assign any of these to the same button, slider etc for quick control.

does anyone else see this as a good idea?

Aboslutely!
I have the same problem right now, did you find a workaround meanwhile?
Daniel Curry

Try making two buttons in the virtual console, assigning them both to the same scene, then each to a different input, then dragging the duplicate off the visual portion of your Virtual Console. I've played around with this and haven't run into any problems yet.

Not a permanent solution of course, but a good workaround in the meantime.

Thanks for the workaround idea.
I've just tried it, and generally it works, but it doesn't reflect the changes i do.
For example when i change a slider on touchosc the fader on the bcf2000 doesn't move, so the whole system gets messed up.

i think i found a way using osculator to map touchosc and the bcf2000 to the same values and use the iac as input

I am also trying to do this - I would like to use MIDI (LC2412) and OSC (TouchOSC) concurrently as external input.

I'm new to QLC+, and still getting up to speed - but I can't seem to be able to set two external input devices concurrently. When I select OSC for example, MIDI becomes unchecked.

I would like to use the LC2412 for general light management (eg floods etc), and concurrently use an iPad for controlling moving heads, and triggering scenes etc.

Is there a way to have two concurrent external inputs ? Am I just being dumb?

Thanks,
Nick

Nick,

your problem is simpler, and easy to solve, since you seem that you don't need buttons/faders be controlled by **both** of the protocols simultaneously, as the guys above you want.

In your case you just need to assign OSC to one input universe and LC2412/MIDI to another input universe.

hi guys.
i just have to ask the question....

While I'm sure that it would be possible for the guys to code this .... but Why would you want to work in a setup like that? it sounds like a potential nightmare waiting to happen....
the thought of somebody else getting control of a keyboard while I'm adjusting a scene with another control is chilling.... just keep things simple, no?

just my thoughts.

Many thanks Jano. Works like a charm ! Excellent !
