Scanner: DMX channels are not set to zero after scene changes

Hi everybody,
I have a beginner's question:
If I select a scene using a scanner (which is in this example an ADJ Comscan LED), values are not zeroed after going to the next scene, so the scanner remains illuminated. I would like it to blackout if the scene is left. I have noticed that this also happens to other fixtures if not defined as "generic dimmer". Perhaps someone has a hint for me..
Many thanks and best regards,
Ulf

Hi again,
I assume this is a bug, you might want to correct me if I am wrong.
I am running qlcplus under linux, with Entttec DMX USB Pro, but this behaviour also occured with an Enttec Opendmx USB.
If a scene is left in a cue list, channels are not set to zero by other fixtures than generic dimmers, that means, effects are still running (for example, scanner heads still moving with lights out), fixtures such as moon flowers keep beeing enlighted.
This also happenes when calling a scene by pressing a button on the virtual console, after releasing the moonflower is still on.
My question: is anyone expecting this, too?

Hi,
this is absolutely normal. A DMX- channel becomes zero again, if you set it to zero.
Exception for scenes: It's possible to define a button in the virtual console with "flashfunction" - than the corresponding DMX- channel becomes zero after releasing the button.

Hi laserandi,
thanks for the reply. The behaviour of the DMX channels was clear so far, for me it is more a question of software. The flashbutton -in case of flowers- does not work in the expected way, either. The fixture runs and does not stop working until I set all channels to zero manually. If it is defined as a generic dimmer, everything works as expected. I will do some experiments with the channels definition of the fixture.
Best regards,
Ulf

Hi again,
this maybe helps some newbies like me:
ok if you read the manual (qlcplus-fixtureditor, section "channels", this makes sense, it is recommended not to use the colour group but intensity if the fixture has no dimmer. In my example, I use a Lightmaxx Stardust LED flower, which has no separate dimmer. If I assign the color dmx values to the "intensity" channel, it all works as expected.
Thanks for your Ideas.
Next, I look after the EFX running wild in the background...

EFX running permanently while processing a cue list:
If I create a cue list, and add a collection containing a) scanners efx moving and b) scanners colour/intensity etc, and set the duration for that cue list entry to zero, it will run all the time during other cue list items are processed. Even if I try to set all the scanners' values to zero, pan/tilt still operate in EFX mode but lights are off. They just keep permanentely moving until I press "all functions off" button on the virtual console. It seems there is no chance to do this with a cue list item.
Many thanks and regards,
Ulf
