Q Light Controller+

Hi,

I plan using QLC+ in bowling alley as a stand-alone DMX controller with audio trigger. Couple of questions if someone could advise:

- Would QLC+ run on Raspberry Pi, no screen, only remote control via MIDI, DMX or other?
- Can I run QLC+ in kiosk mode with only virtual console visible on linux?
- I'd like to have audio sensitivity from ext. MIDI/DMX controller, Is there any controls for the audio sensitivity by QLC+ or should I change input volume from linux audio driver via script etc?
- Anything else to consider when making such setup?

it sounds as if we have similar needs. My plan is to provide a predefined set of scenes which could be activated by touching a photo of the scene on a touchscreen.
I haven't found any packages in the repos and did not find any installations instructions - did you make any progress?

I have no idea if QLC+ runs on Raspberry Pi. First you need to run Linux+Qt 4.8.x. Google is your friend.
Then you need to cross-compile QLC+ for ARM using a toolchain for the Pi.

Not something that an average Linux user can do.

MIDI/Virtual Console questions: I guess you guys need to read some documentation first.
As for audio sensitivity external control, no, it's not possible at the moment.

@kakohari: what "packages/installation instructions" were you looking for ? Have you got any idea on how many *NIX distributions are out there ?

OR...you can donate a Raspberry Pi to this project and hope to get something good out of it

I experimented using the pi as an artnet node and running QLC+ on my windows pc and that works fine.

Get QLC+ to run on a pi is a very exciting prospect but remember that the pi does not have an on-board mic nor a line in plug so you are bond to have to do some hardware mods or get a usb soundcard (watch the power drain though).
