Suggestion: Ability to map input to GUI controls

Hi,
I was wondering if you could add the possibility to map any kind of input to all the GUI controls. I suggest making a button called "Map to input" or something like that, and when you click it, you can click another button to map to, then click your input source. Much like the way you can assign input to virtual console controls.
