Hi everyone.
At start please take my apoligize for my bad english.
I realy do apreciate your work and basing on my knowledge in show lihgting i want to help to improve some features i am operator of consoles like grand ma, chamsys and avolites.
threre are only four functions missing and programming would be miltiple times faster and it would be best open source software ever! With those improvement's I'd be able even to pay for it if you want and im shure many othres would like to donate too

first MOST important#
auto grouping parameters in fixture groups and plausibility to instantly set some values right after patching similar to original q-light controler first versions (but there wasn't auto group option)

i.e. I'm grouping 4 mac 700spots and instead of having those 4 blocks to edit group(in fixture tab) it would be MEGA FAST if i can acces there GROUPED parameters like ONE slider for ALL dimmers in group
ONE slider for all tilts in group ONE Slider for all gobo plates in group ETC...

... and there goes SECOND AND THIRD
two VERY SIMPLE BUTTONS at same tab i was just writing right after quick setting AUTOMATICALLY grouped parameters i wish to have large button to DUMP those values as new scene or cue

other button near by every parameter group SHOULD be value alignment I.E. i have 10 moving heads grouped and before i choose any value i have to chose value alignment left, right, center, sides or align off
so when i've chosen LEFT alignment and set dimmers values at 100 first fixture would have dimmer at 0 second at 10% third at 20% fourth 30% and so on to 100% same situation occours when i set grouped PAN's 10 moving heads with alignment set to center after input value 100 the middle fixtures should barely move and outter fixtures should aim at center symetrically

FOURTH the hardest but it would be the Cherry at the top of most delicious cake
effects assignable to every function i.E. Dimmers focuses or colour values based on EDITABLE math functions with plausibility to edit phases for every fixture in effect also width and scale

i see my sugestions were ignored. all pro software have functions described by me i see you are not interested.

and for ending of my adventure with QLC+ let me bring back some quote from main page
"The primary goal is to bring QLC+ at the level of other lighting control commercial softwares"

u forgot? by now all u do is making sh*t shiny and colorfull.

Wow Jacob!

That was pretty harsh judgement to a very small group of volunteers donating spare time and sharing it with the world. Working on this project probably isn't a full time project for anybody.

I liked most of your ideas; took re-reading several times to understand them all. I would have added a suggestion to download the GrandMA onPC software and see how it works as an example.

I'm brand new to QLC+, just investigating it myself. Considering helping contribute. I have some programming experience in addition to lighting. Your ideas are good a few not too hard to implement. A few will take a significant amount of programming & testing time.

You quoted the main page. Did you notice it didn't actually say they were done?

The GrandMAs, Hogs and so forth will always be around for people that need the best. However, there is a window for people that need some core functionality and can't afford to pay for the best. Besides making stuff shiny and colorfull is half the fun.

Congratulations Jacob, you just won the prize for one of the most unrespectful person I've ever met.

First of all, the basic rule of any free/open source software is that you take it "as it is". If you don't like, then you're free to use something else.
Even better, you can learn C++ and Qt and make all the changes you want. Sources are online.

I already have a job and a salary and I certainly don't work for you. I picked up the QLC+ challenge as a "spare time" activity.

QLC+ has already progressed a lot since QLC went almost dead. Many people could like what I did. Many other still uses QLC. Not a problem for me.

There are several usage of this software (live shows, teathrical shows, programmed shows), since it has lot of different functionalities and a complex architecture. Every user would like to have some specific changes done for the particular usage they do. What I try to do is to make everyone happy and I don't expect you to understand how difficult this is.

I noticed also you have some issues in reading things. The statement "by now all u do is making sh*t shiny and colorfull" means you haven't even read the changes I've made in the latest versions.
To name a few, global clipboard, recent files, crashes fixed, OSC feedbacks, EFX improvements has nothing to do with the "colorful" word.

It is also a good habit to read the documentation before throwing shit to someone, cause as far as I understood, your two requests are already implemented in QLC+. Their names are:
"Channel groups": http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://r ... nnelgroups
"DMX dump": http://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://r ... xdump.html

I've already spent too much of my time for you here. I hope you will find peace with some other "less colorful" software (possibly spending 700-800€ for it)

Heh i knew i'll get your attention with my second post.
i have 2 full time jobs at the moment and a lot's thing to learn so c++ coding is a really distant dream form me.
i'd rather wanted to know your opinion on my sugests than forcing you to do what i want (besides i offered you payment but that doesn't matter now).

So... today i've ordered mod's i wanted to a freelancing coder
well see what's it gonna look and work like
of course i'll share it with everyone interested
so relax and wait ;)
