Good things about QLC+

- Sticking to software GUI standards to a much greater degree than most lighting software. MA is messed up, like it's a completely separate logic from Windows and Mac. It also seems really old and unflexible. The same goes for Avolites and Chamsys. And there we have three of the biggest names in the business. Here you have keyboard shortcuts, standard copying, checkboxes, form fields, dropdown boxes, tabs and all the usual and expected from typical desktop software. That makes it MUCH quicker to work with, much easier to learn and actually more flexible, since you don't miss out on standard tried and tested ways of working. Thumbs up.
- The MIDI controller compatibility! Oh my! That is just super nice. You can plug in any controller, use MIDI learn and use whatever you want, both MIDI CC and everything. That's more than can be said of the big names in the business, again...
- Compatible with all typical USB-DMX interfaces. Great!
Those three points makes QLC+ extremely exciting, I think. I've been visiting a few different lighting consoles and systems the past year, and I don't understand the idiosyncratic logic behind them. (And the price tags!)
With some more features like working LTP, a standard "programmer"-style way of programming lights (that system is great as is), palettes and a bit more flexible playback functions with fade times and everything, and it should be on it's way. A little easier to do chases and cue lists would be great also.
A marriage between QLC+ and the MagicQ software would be a dream come true. You can [download the MagicQ software for free here](https://secure.chamsys.co.uk/magicq).
