"override" function
I am using Freestyler now, and it has a funtion that is very usefull: a scene is running, but i want interrupt with another effect (like strobe or something). So as long the "strobe" button is active, all the programmed fixtures are flashing but when the strobe button is released the previous scene goes on. i have buttons for "all red", "all blue" etc. this is a very usefull function. i mis that in QLC. In the future i want to use QLC because it is so much more userfriendly. is it possible to add this funtion?
It depends on how your fixtures are controlled by channel. My LED pars have five separate channels related to color: Red, Green, Blue, Master Dim, and Strobe. So, I could create a flash button that triggers a scene that raises only the strobe channel, and hit it off while the colors and dim values don't change.
Is this possible with your fixtures? What fixtures are you using and what is their channel breakdown?

I'd like an override function too. Preferably you'd be able to set up overrides in frames. Preferably I'd like three different types of overrides:
1. Overlay - If I use a flash key in one solo frame, it basically overlays any chase or shutter setting that's happening in any other frames, for the duration that the key is held.
2. Disable. Basically, if i activate a movement macro in one frame, it would disable one that was happening in another frame.
3. Solo. disables functions in specified frames until the function that triggered the solo is turned off, after that they all resume as normal (Perfect for special effects).

Hi Daniel,
Yes I've thinked about that, but my LED PARs have 3 channels R, G, B, so I can't use the dim channel.
Override is a great function that can improve QLC features.

Thomas, Sjef and Daniel,

It's a fairly complicated workaround and it can be a little tricky, but it works. Turns out you don't need the cascaded frames, and you can just put all the submasters in one frame. If QLC+ does add an override capability, it should all be related to frames. For example there should be momentary overrides (Pressing flash key in flashes frame disables chase frame until i let go) and latch overrides where pressing a button in one frame is able to disable functions in another frame.
hope this helps..
