Hi,
I am looking to purchase a touch screen for use with my showPC and I was just wondering if anyone has tried using QLC+ with it, If so how well does it work and is it worth me purchasing?
Thanks
Russ

Hi russchallis !
I'm sorry if the response is a little bit late but i'm a new user of QLC+ ;)
I've built my own touchscreen with scrap display and a flex touchscreen digitalizer bought on aliexpress.

It's just perfect ! it works for everything, especially in virtual console mode, but it works everywhere. It's just a little complicated when buttons are too small and when you have to type a scene name.

That's it do it and you won't be dissapointed !!

see you

Thomas

I've found touchscreen to work very well with QLC+. We purchased a dedicated laptop (I wanted a real keyboard) to setup with QLC+ as our new light controller this year, and it has worked out great. An important note is that QLC+ does not seem to support multi-touch. So, if you want to move two faders simultaneously, this does not appear to be supported by QLC+. However, considering all of the other things that QLC allows us to do, this is an easy tradeoff. (Of course, as someone else said, if you're creating your virtual console for touch usage, you may want to resize the button, faders, etc.)

We are running our QLC+ on an Asus laptop (Q501LA-BBI5T03) running Windows 8.

Ok, so you're using the latest Qt 5 libraries.
Unfortunately QLC+ has not much to do with multitouch, but instead the Qt libraries are in charge of handling it.

I'll read some documentation about it and see if there can be a solution for us or if we have to wait until the Qt company adds the multitouch support

Sorry, correction to my previous post, we are actually using an Acer V5-473P-5602 laptop (still running Windows 8). However, I don't think this will really change the answer.

As I said above...multi-touch would be a nice feature...but I'm so excited by everything else that QLC+ has to offer, this is a minor nit.

Hey guyss, my first post in the new forum.
Good to see QLC+ is still going fast forward.

I setup QLC+ on a Win7 machine, in a Club environemnt. The DJs have to handle the lights as well there and this is working just fine with a Touchscreen.
Basicly if you get the Touchscreen working on your OS, you can go and use it with QLC+. For Win8 and 10 especially MultiTouchscreens need a certification. Make sure your hardware has this or you may have problems, especially on OEM Versions of Windows. Microsoft is very resttrictive and disables some fancy Touch-Functions, like flicks or automatic OnScreen Keyboard activations etc.
The signataure is part of the Controller Firmware, so in most cases you can't just use a different driver.

Never the less, even Touchscreen works nice, there are still functions that I prefere to use with real buttons, like Tap the speed. Real hardware is still more precise, more secure and faster to handle. Especially in live situations if you are stressed and lights just need to work and you should not do any mistakes.

Cheers
Malte
