I've tried to do a search but couldn't find anything, but is it possible to remove all fixture definitions so i can only add the ones i need?
Also i have created various versions of different definitions as i got them wrong, how do i delete them from showing in the fixtures menu (when adding fixtures)

If you want to remove your fixtures, go to user folder (see
http://www.qlcplus.org/docs/questionsan ... ser-folder) and delete them.
If you want to remove system (predefined) fixtures, go to system folder (where QLC+ is installed) and remove them. You also need to remove them from FixturesMap.xml in the system folder.

Sorry, i didn't think it was an 'issue' topic as it concerned fixtures.

I've had a look, and still can't seem to locate my fixture files i've created on my mac.
I've even unhid all files on the system and i can't see them.
the example in the online manual (cd $HOME/Library/Application\ Support/QLC+) does not even exist.

Guys, I'm getting nervous...
Why in the first place you want to remove all the QLC+ fixtures ? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Secondly, do you expect us to read your mind by not telling us which OSX version you are using ? (and before not even that ?)
"cd $HOME/Library/Application\ Support/QLC+" is a terminal command. It's written in the documentation.
Are you sure you know how to use your computer ?
Anyway, forget that. I doubt you could go further even if the command worked.
Do you have a directory called "Library" in your user home directory ? Look it up with Finder.

Massimo, the only reason i wanted to remove the fixtures is for the simple fact that i'm not going to use them, and i don't want to scroll through unnecessary fixtures, but thats just my thoughts.
Im using OS X 10.10.1.
And looking at my finder under Macintosh HD > Users > Dean(Home) there is no "Library" folder.

There's always the search box in the "Add fixture" dialog, so you don't need to scroll all the way through.
Anyway, in OSX the "system" fixtures are bundled into the DMG package.
Not sure if you can, but you need to remove them from there following Jano's instructions
[EDIT] As for the Library folder, I can't help. Any other Yosemite user can confirm or deny if Apple's genious moved/removed it ?

Massimo, i just went to the fixture editor mode and tried to open up one of the files and they appear as normal, however if i go through the normal finder, some of the folders are not available to view (see added pics).
This is why i'm wondering why i can't find the specific folder as i 'can't see it 'normally'

Finally got into the folder, by using the option, command and L key to gain access.

Hi, similar question here,
I don't want/need to remove any of the included fixtures, but I would like to place mine in the correct place.
So, as Dean stated, I can't find QLC+ folder in my Library/Application Support/ folder, I'm running Mavericks 10.9.5.
I tried to create it and then make a "fixtures" folder and place mine there, but QLC+ don't see it.
So, any ideas about where to put my fixture to work with it?

Last one.
Open a terminal and type:
Code: Select all
cd $HOME/Library/Application\ Support/QLC+
Then type 'ls' and you will see the user fixtures folder.
If you don't know, $HOME is your user home directory (e.g. /Users/MyUser)
Say thanks to Apple, who made lot of useful folders hidden to users and hard to find.
Finding this folder is easy for who understand how OSX works and know a bit of *nix terminal commands.
Otherwise there should be a way to make those folders visible in Finder, but still you need to call some terminal commands to do so. (Google it in case)

Hi Maximo,
Thank you so much for your patience and knowledge. It worked for me.
Anyway, it's strange that I can reach "Application Support" folder via OSX GUI and it has several folders inside, some of them belonging to other pieces of software I own (Adobe, Synology, The Foundry) and I have access to them through GUI but I can't see QLC+. Just checked and, voilá, it's not the same "Application Support"... OK, some sort of mess Apple did here... I have Unix V5 knowledge but not OSX (it's very similar but OSX do some sort of "camouflage" with a lot of stuff).
It's clear now, I would apend something like "DO NOT USE GUI FOR THIS" in the Q&A to avoid future questions about the same
And I need to thank you again for this pretty piece of software. I have a couple of questions but I'll do a new thread for them.
THANKS
