I've just started using QLC+ and so far it's been really user friendly. I purchased a cheap USB DMX controller from Amazon so I could start getting some real world setups going. I have created a couple chases and when I run any of them the chase is very erratic. It's like the first time it will run through each step and then it might jump from the first step to the last one. Or it might flash through several steps like it's trying to catch up with itself. It's almost like it can't keep up. You can watch it as it highlights each step on the screen and has this behavior. If I turn on blackout it then will cycle through the steps in a smooth manner, but as soon as I turn off blackout it goes back to erratic.
I've been eliminating things it could be. If I disconnect the lights from the controller and run the chase it still has the same behavior. If I disconnect the controller the chase runs through the steps smoothly like it should. So this points to the controller, but I've been reading and see that lots of people are successful using these types of controllers. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this type of thing or if they have any suggestions?
My controller is: "KEDSUM® DMX512 USB Interface for Vixen USB to DMX Dongle Adaptor Enttec Pro Compatible" that I purchased from Amazon.
I'm using a Windows 8.1 laptop, but I've tried it on 2 other Windows 7 laptops with the same results.
Thanks for any help,
Tony
Issue with chases
Not sure if this is related, but since I upgraded to 4.8.2, I'm seeing this too.
The chasers work for couple of steps, then the fading just stops, or it jumps to the next one while still fading.
