Q Light Controller+

OK - Since I last used QLC+ I have upgraded to OS X Mavericks
AND upgraded to QLC+ V. 4.5.0 (a)

Right now Im sitting with my normal fixtures and my normal Workspace-file that USED to work

ONE thing is "wrong" - I do not have the terminator connected but that is normally not a problem

"Everyting" seems fine inside QLC+ and the monitor shows values sent - and in my output my ENTTEC OPENDMX USB is shown as output with serial number and all..

I say "Everything" because SOMETIMES when QLC+ is running my mouse and keyboard freezes completely and I have to reboot my Mac the hard way.

BUT fixtures shows NO light whatsoever NOTHING

I have checked addresses 2000 times - changed cables and so on. I have even tried a new "empty" Workspace file - and even tried to install QLC (without +)... - NOTHING

So as I see it - either there is something in QLC+ 4.5.0(a) that is not working - OR something in Mavericks is blocking OR else my Opendmx Usb have stopped working

Any Ideas ??

You need to uninstall the FTDI system drivers. Remove /System/Library/Extensions/FTDIUSBSerialDriver.kext and reboot.

Thanks - but ... no such file in my extensions ... No such file at all

So ... worked some more with this issue

Installed QLC+ 4.5.0 on another Mac that are running Mountain Lion - worked fine

So it is not my cables, fixtures or OpenDmx Box - and it is not QLC+ except for maybe not being entirely compatible with OS X Mavericks.


ONE difference between the 2 Macs I see is that when I open Input/Output the working mac says. "GOOD" under "System Timer Accuracy" ... The Not working Mavericks system Says "Patch this widget to a Universe to find out" - although it IS patched (see enclosed pic)

Anyone ??

SO Problem solved

Problem was new USB driver from Apple

Disable the new driver: (Apple Terminal)

cd /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns
sudo mv AppleUSBFTDI.kext AppleUSBFTDI.disabled
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions

My Enttec Open DMX clone device only works to QLC+ 4.6.1 or older on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). However it works perfectly on Win 7 on the same machine with the last version of QLC+. Tried many things listed above, I don't know what to do...

Hello All!
I'm new to QLC(+) and DMX in general, and I'm having some of the same issues.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.8 and with QLC+ 4.6.1, the USB DMX device is listed and checked in the output tab, but no output to lights.
With QLC+ 4.8.1, the device is not listed.
I have uninstalled the drivers per the documentation, but with no success.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
