Can I snap colors in scene?

I have LED fixtures which I added to a scene. The fixtures have a separate channel for intensity and RGBW channels. With the scene I created the colors are faded along with the intensity. Is there any way with a slider in the virtual console or a fade in a chase to snap the colors to the desired value and fade the intensity? For now I'm fading the colors along with the intensity but I would prefer to hold the color channels constant.

Would making the LED channels LTP stop this happening? That would cancel fading effects on those channels?

Hi Matt,

If you put the intensity channels in one set of Scenes and the RGBW channels in another set of Scenes with zero fade in/out times, you will have several options for achieving a fade for the intensity and a snap for colours, for example:

1a) Control an intensity Scene with a fader

or

1b) Attach intensity Scenes (with fade in/out times) to Buttons

then

2a) Attach various RGBW Scenes to Buttons in a Solo Frame for the colour changes.

or

2b) Set up a Chaser with the RGBW Scenes.

I tried the two scenes approach and it looks like the way to go if I what to tie the scene to a fader, maybe a button under the fader to set the color then use the fader for the intensity. However, for use in a chaser it means two scenes every time one is logically what I need. For the purposes of a scene with a one or two second fade in/out it does not appear to be worth the effort.

I am programming this same effect on a hardware board and it has an option to snap the color channels for a fixture and fade the intensity. I was hoping there was some way I could use the fade curves to achieve the same thing but it looks like that doesn't adjust the dmx values the way I would want. It could change dmx value of 1 to some higher value but it doesn't appear to provide a way to cap that higher value at the level indicated in the scene.

Thanks

In the fixtures tab, you can click Fade button (the violet one). There you can set if a channel should be faded or not, and also force HTP/LTP. I tried disabling fade for some dimmer channels and the values snapped in. The problem is that once I use value of 255 I could not set anything else. It seems that even setting to LTP doesn't help here. Most probably there's a bug and unfortunately, I don't have time to explore it more.

Give it a chance, perhaps it would work for you, but probably it won't...

Thanks for the suggestion, from what I've seen it is more work than it is worth to try to lock the colors but fade the intensity. For now I'll just let the color channels fade with the intensity. Not a deal breaker.
