To avoid the libudev0 issue, I compiled from source on Lubuntu - a pc with an AMD processor.
The workspace is biggish - about 360kb.
If the network cable is not plugged in, then QLC crashes when loading the workspace. When I plug in network cable then it loads and works perfectly.
If I create a wizarded workspace on the Lubuntu machine without the network cable it saves and loads fine.
The workspace in question was originally created on a windows7 box and on there, it loads fine as well.
Weird linux crash
Hello Chris, are there external resources linked to your project ?
Like audio files, pictures, etc..
Might be some "file not found" issue not handled properly, where Windows paths are different from Linux paths

SOLVED!! Massimo, you set me on the right path. It is not that the paths were mixed up but I had an audio file with spaces in a long name and it was in a directory below. This is what I did (not sure which step solved it yet):
I renamed the file in windows to a single word .wav
Then I moved the file to the same folder as the workspace.
I opened the workspace in windows and it showed missing audio file in the audio.
I pointed the workspace to the renamed and moved file.
I saved the file in Dropbox and waited for it to sync to the Linux box.
I unplugged the network cable on the Linux box.
I could open the workspace fine.
I'm sorry that I can't troubleshoot this now. We rigged the new lights today (from 07:00 until now 24:00) and we are doing a technical rehearsal tomorrow. Opening on Friday for a 1 week run. I am bushed.

Chris, glad you found the trick.
It would be nice to fix this anyway.
When you have time, please share the workspace here or send it to me on an email.
Thanks
