Hi folks,

I'm sorry if this is a bit off topic, but I'm using QLC+ to control multiple RGB LED strips, where each strip has its own controller.

The controller doesn't seem to have any branding on it, but it's been sold virtually everywhere and looks like this:

It works fine, but all the controllers are set to the same preset DMX channels 1-3. As I'm probably not the only one here to looks for an inexpensive RGB controllers, I was wondering if anyone had figured out a way to change the channel setting on these things?

I took one of them apart, but found no jumpers nor DIP switches inside.

Hi Ari,
hardcoded DMX address ? Wow !

I'm afraid the only solution is to keep them in separate universes.
Of course you'll need one DMX adapter for each controller.

Anyway, it seems they are Arduino-based devices ? Maybe you can modify the address in the firmware and flash it back ?

How about a pic of the insides?

My money is on a software change unless there is some clever means of programming the micro settings using the DMX - I doubt it. Are there headers on the PCB for plugging a programming tool?

I googled a bit. It seems that the device is programmable using DMX input (I assume using bidirectional RS485). There are several "editors" or "programmers" either in hardware or in software. I could not find the protocol description - I assume that it's not secret since there are many vendors, I just could not find it.

I can get you a picture of one I took apart earlier if needed. I did examine it a bit closer, but found only one set of empty rs485 header pins and not much else.

Some dealers have included vague claims about changing the address with software, but no one seems to know anything nor have the actual software.

At the moment I just left this controller at its default address and bought controllers with DIP-switches for the other LED strips.
