Hi,
I've tested your software with great pleasure, finally I found software which is easy to use and can do what I want. (I’m going to delete all other software packages… )
But one thing is not easy. When I Create a scene with a light at 50% and I run the scene the fader of that light in the Virtual console will not move to the set value in the scene. In the Simple Desk the faders are following this setting. Making it easy to adjust the output.
I’ll hope you can build this feature in the next release.
Thanks,
Edward Matray

Hello Edward
I understand what your looking to do. You want the fader to animate when cued. This actually can be done in playback mode. What you need to do is set your scene first of all. Now create a chaser with that scene as a single step with an infinite duration (or less if you want it to be shorter) and give it a button on your VC . (you can use fade in/out if you like). Next, set your fader to play back the chaser. When you click the button the fader will move to the scene settings (will go the whole way up). You can adjust it from there. When you disengage the button the fader will return to the bottom. Keep in mind that even if you have fade times the fader will go up and down instantly, the fade is still working though. It just doesn't show the fade in the animation of the fader as of yet. A good idea as an add for future versions. =)
Hope this was helpful
Dave

Interesting work around, Davey (but cumbersome). Not sure it will work for multiple scenes with differnt channels on different fixtures changing al the time.
I endorse Edward's view. Specifically, if you have a slider that controls one channel of a fixture or the same channel on identical fixtures, it should update the slider when that channel value changes.
Multiple channels are possibly more tricky as they are not always the same values. But often one has exactly the same setting for a bunch of lights like odds, evens, from left etc.
XY pads with one fixture can update as well.
Having this will make it possible to have lots of scenes for your show and then have a virtual console with a bunch of sliders controlling specific channels that allows you to tweak it live very easily. Currently the only way to tweak during live is to try and use the edit live function but that involves hitting the button and then selecting the scene from the list and then finding the fixture and then finding the channel.
If it updates, then I can have the channel on a slider on the virtual console, the scene changes the value of a channel, the slider updates and I can easily move the slider to adjust a value. Simple, quick and powerful live operation.

Hello again
I agree Chris. Its a work around. When considering multiple scene and fixtures its cumbersome, and my work around is based on intensities for one. For basic setups it works very well despite the inaccurate fader animations. Its works with just using it to control ambient light and thus being able to control contrast so my scenes and chases are more vibrant.
As with the XY pads there shouldn't be much difference (in theory) to apply this concept to faders. Again when using the simple desk, the animation in real time works well. To add, the issue with the behavior of sub masters as of yet. They should act in the same way as the Grand Master fader does or as in how a VCA works in audio. Rather it only controls an element when its active. It then loses its control upon deactivation (no real work around for that as far as i know.). I hear its being worked on.
There is no doubt there could be a bit more interaction and animation in this way. I have come across many scenarios that could benefit from this feature and am patiently waiting till QLC gets to that point.
This software is undoubtedly awesome. My last show using 4.7.1 was impressive. The band was very pleased as well. Despite any limitations as of yet, it will only get better.
Praises and thanks
