Q Light Controller+

I'm using QLC+ for theatrical work, and currently finding myself really wanting an "intensity %age" feature in a Chaser / Cue list.

What I'd love to be able to do is define a Scene, but then have it play at less than 100% intensity initially in the cue stack, before a later cue brings it up to full intensity.

My current workaround is to clone copies of the required scenes then just manually adjust the faders down. This seems non-ideal for several reasons (hard to get it accurate manually, updates won't be automatic, etc...)

Since playing a scene in a cue list requires adjusting the intensity anyway from an implementation perspective (i.e. because of the crossfade), it seems like it would be a reasonably simple addition to be able to set this in the cue list itself.

Does anyone have any better suggestions on how I can achieve this effect in the meantime?

isn't working for you the first virtual slider in the cue list windows?
Personally I use it - with the link button not checked - to control the general intensity values in a cue list.
I've a midi controller and I assign it to a manual fader or a knob.

If you need to record an halfway scene and you want to be precise you can use the above virtual slider together with the button "dump DMX values", then you can assign the new scene to the chaser.

The virtual slider in the cuelist lets you adjust live, what the intensity of the stored step is. That isn't the same thing as storing that intensity into the cuelist itself, so it's repeateable for every performance.

I'm aware of "dump DMX values" but that also doesn't feel a very satisfactory result. I'll end up with lots of cloned copies of all my scenes with different intensities, that are totally unlinked. If I ever edit the "master" copy of a scene, it won't automatically update all the dimmed versions of them. This will be an editing nightmare. I really would like to have a feature whereby it remained linked; where somehow I could have a scene inserted in a cuelist at reduced intensity, that will remain linked to that original master scene, so that any updates to it will be reflected in the reduced version.
