Flash scene with fade

Hi everyone,

I'm finding that triggering a scene with a button in "flash function" mode doesn't observe the scene's fade settings.

What I'm trying to do is "pulse" a light with a MIDI message (0s fade in, 0.5s fade out). Could I achieve this some other way?

thanks

Hi, why do you need to use flashing ?
In "normal" mode you just trigger the button and when the scene is done the button will return to inactive

Hello Owen

You can do the same thing with chases by selecting it to run as a single shot. This allows you to create more intricate "flash like" functions that also return the button to inactive when finished.

Hi all,

What he wants to do is do a flash, but have it look more like a halogen (with a fade in and out) rather than a hardcut as you get with LED fixtures. Let me know if this is right Owen.

Does this feature exist ? In the button dialog the fade time is disabled when the button is in flash mode...

Flashing is flashing, and it's instantaneous.
I'm afraid these are not the droids you're looking for... :)

...even though with my latest changes, fading on flashing should be possible...but needs to be evaluated for side effects

"Should be possible" means if i compile the master branch on github I will be able to set a fading time in the button dialog for a flash button?
Or will the scene's fade time be used?

No.
I've made some changes to support flashing of LTP channels and by doing that I noticed there should be a way to consider fade times as well.
This doesn't mean I've done that :)

Just to confirm LTP is short for "Latest takes priority" or "Lowest take priority". I am I correct HTP is short for "Highest takes priority" and is reserved just for dimmers in QLC?
