If I've invoked a chase, like at the end of a song, how can I have the scene both continue to chase and fade out?I can do this with static scenes.4 basic par cans
Thanks

With not looking at the program right off hand, couldn't you have that step have a specific duration to do a fade out for the timing of the end of the song and go into the next step?

Not sure what you mean.Let me give a more detailed description of what I'm doing.
I'm a solo act that uses a sequencer for backing tracks. I have 4 colored lights.I have created 10 basic scenes using those 4 lights in various combinations. I address all of the scenes via midi. Works great. I created one scene I call"Blackout Fade". It's comprised of the 4 lights assigned a value of 1 & the clock set for a 6 second fade.BTW all of the virtual console buttons live inside a solo frame. No matter what scene I have called up if I then invoke the "blackout fade" the scene that was up previous stars a 6 second fade. Just as I would want.If I call up a chase scene and hit "blackout fade" everything just instantly blacksout.I want the chase to fadeout just like the static scene.
Maybe if I do the "blackout fade" outside of the solo frame?

I'm not sure what you're meaning by a solo frame. Are you creating an automated show? I would think that if you created a step with a specific duration and if things timed like you want you can get it to go to that step within the cue list. That is if you're using a cue list.

Not using a cue list.Midi controls button pushes in the virtual console. When you put the buttons inside of a solo frame each button push turns off the previous button. What I have now done is this:
Chase scene 1 just keeps looping through the 4 lights.
Chase scene 2 is a one shot chase that includes the "Fadeout" scene.
When I want the to end the song I put a midi command that starts the #1 chase. At the very end I insert the midi command for the #2 chase.#1 turns off and #2 takes over just going through one sequence with the final step a fade.

Fade In/Fade out are in effect when functions start and stop. There are two levels of functions:
1. your chaser and your blackout function
2. steps inside your chaser

So behind the scenes, this is happening: steps of your chasers start and stop one by one, then when you start blackout function the chaser stops, and goes to fadeout, which means that the last step is faded out (since the chaser is already stopped - this is how solo frame works).

If you can handle manual fading (i.e. pulling a slider, no preprogrammed time) you can use grand master fader (the one on the left in the virtual console). You can even assign MIDI control to it (in VC settings).

If you need to have preprogrammed fade out, try to create another set of scenes, fade manually the scenes, and create another chaser. I.e. Step 1: lamp 1 @ 100%, Step 2: lamp 3 @ 70%, Step 4: lamp 2 @ 40%, Step 3: all lamps @ 1
Set infinite duration for the last step, make the chaser single shot.

Thanks Jano. That's pretty much what I discovered and ended up doing.Forgot about doing a one shot chase. Works fine.
