Hey great software. I'm a complete newbie to the lighting world itself, and thanks to QLC+ I'm getting to learn so,e stuff.

This is what I've done so far...
-Set a 7 channel LED par as a fixture.
-Created 7 faders(multi fader bank) in the Virtual Console and assigned the faders to their respective channels (R,G,B,Macro,Strobe,Preset,Intensity)
-Created a new fader in a different frame
-I have gone into Operate mode and set some values on the 7 faders of the LED fixture
-Dumped the DMX values to the new fader
-Reset the faders for the fixture
-Now i take up the new fader with DMX values of the scene and i see in the Simple Desk that the values are as i had assigned earlier
-I bring down the level to zero on the new fader... and here's where the problem is... The R,G,B,Intensity values comes back down to zero, but there is NO change in the Macro, Strobe, Intensity fader levels.

In the slider/fader properties the R,G,B and Intensity Click n Go settings are on NONE and the Macro, Strobe and Preset sliders are set to Gobo/Effect/Macro in the Click and Go Settings.

i hope it's not a lame enquiry.

I'm using 4.5.0, A MacBook Pro with 10.8.4

Thanks a lot.
Did I mention it's great piece of software?

Can you post your workspace?

I suspect the problem is that Macro/Strobe are LTP. Intensity should come to zero.
SDerMan

I have no place that I know of where I can change setting from LTP to HTP. Thanks for the reply. :-)

Please post your workspace, maybe I can find a solution. I just don't want to waste time guessing your situation (1. you have it ready 2. my workspace might be slightly different)

Attaching. Thanks for the help.
My problem...
In my Virtual console, increase my so called Sub Master Frame's 1st slider called '1 Test'. See the sliders(Simple Desk and DMX values on Fixture monitor) show the values correctly.
Bring '1 Test' back down and the values from Macro, Strobe, Preset don't return back.

Here is the explanation: as I suspected, LTP is the cause of this.

QLC+ does not fade LTP channels. Most people do not want e.g. to cycle through all macros/strobe variants when you pull the slider down. If you want to have macro/strobe at 0, you have to create another button that sets them so (and push them after you fade the colors).

Some lighting programs keep a stack of running functions. Lets say you start scene A, then start scene B. With the stack, when you stop B, the program knows that A was running when B was started, so it restores A.

Unfortunately, this is not the case with QLC+ - it keeps a list of running functions, but when you stop any of them, the others are not restored. You have to start them anew. Also, there is no default to where QLC+ should return - it keeps the last values.

Eventually, the stack may be implemented, though that might take months to years...

Does this make sense to you?
SDerMan

Yes. Thank you for your time and the info. Makes sense. I guess I'll use buttons to reset the values.
