pause effect ability

while programming for an upcoming gig i have an idea to see if its possible to make it where effects can be paused or resume from where the lights stopped instead of always starting at the same place.

I want to change the efx computation so that when you change speed/duration, it won't jump, rather smoothly continue from the place it was when the speed changed. If I succeed, setting speed to 0 or some really large value would stop the movement, and raising the speed again will resume it.

I won't give any time estimation when it will be ready though.
