Here is a fixture definition for the Chauvet Radius (the older 1.0 model):

It's my first fixture definition (just got QLC+ and going through it, really nice program), so maybe someone double check I've done it right.

Here's the fixture definition (couldn't upload it on the original post?)

Okay, after trying to model another fixture I have, I ran across a problem (that's also in that Radius definition above). How do you define channels that have different functionality depending on another channel (a control channel)? In the one I uploaded, I used modes, but that doesn't work if you want to switch between them during the show.

-----

For a fictitious example, lets say a par can has channel 1 as a control channel: 0-127 is RGB mode, and 128-255 is macro mode. In RGB mode, channels 2-4 are R-G-B, and in Macro mode, channel 2 is a list of colors.

I want it so if the user selects the 0-127, then the channels 2-4 are configured as "Intensity" channels, but if they select 128-255 then channel 2 is a "Colour" channel with the popup and channels 3&4 are "Nothing" channels.

-----

Like I said, I could do this with modes (have one mode for RBG and one mode for Macro), but then you can't switch at run time. And you can't create one of each and assign them the same address.

Any thoughts?

Hi Matt,

This is a common issue. Basically these channels are set as effects and some short description is used to help explain what the channels are for. Call a channel Intensity/Colour or Strobe/Rotate Speed for example.
