Temporary underground-techno-club

Finally i found some time to make this post, the last weeks and months were pretty exciting and exhausting.
after i learned about QLC+ in january, it quickly became my choice when finding a solution, to control everything, while building a nice little, but amazing techno-club, in an old workshop garage in hamburg with some friends.

at first i struggled with a vew things, but got around it and managed to do some coding on a RasberryPI (never have done that bevore) and got it working.
i used a simple USB Interface for one universe, and artnet for two more.
list of things i controlled with it:

6 Varytec Giga pix Frost LED Bars
8 ADJ Dotz Pars
2 Antari AF3 Fans
4 Cheap noname Movinghead Spots
1 Quad audience blinder
25 Oldschool Par 64 cans in a 5by5 Matrix as a Centerpiece above the DJs
and 8m Stairville Pixel Rail

bevore i found QLC+ i only ever had controlled my DMX stuff with old little Analog controllers with 384 Channels max, and had not much experience with software controlling.
but i must say, i love it!

being able to completely customize my workspace, is pretty nice.
only a few things that i was missing there, a master Fade, similar to speed control, but with fade times, and the ability to freeze funktions without turning them off.
and it only crashed twice a week, when i was really pushing it to the limits ( 5 animations running simultaniously, on 5 different speeds and different multipliers, and sometimes overlapping functions between multiple fixture groups for some extra effect, bringing the RPI 4b to its limit with its 4 GB RAM, i think) but simply restarting qlc brought me back live within 16 seconds.
most visitors didn't even notice.. :D

i will try to upload some pictures, and maybe link some videos, when i get around uploading them,

Almost forgot, this is what my "foh" looked like
the virtual console is in an early state there, changed over time. And this is also a point i love with QLC, being able to adapt to new ideas and needings on the fly, correcting positions and functions while running live. Every day a few hours before doors opened, i was there testing a few things and looks out, and improving the controls a bit.

after reading about it in this forum, i was using a Korg Nanocontrol 2 midi input to control the group submasters, and some other things, my normal keyboard for speed controls, an a 16ch DMX faderwing via usb interface for RGB and master dimmer for the Dotz pars, and movement speed for the moving heads.

i found a suitable touchscreen online used, and this complete setup, whilest a bit chaotic, was really nice to use.

more pictures will follow soon if wanted. :)

Nice!

2nd picture:
Hint: if you PAN inverse the movers, you even get a more dramatic look... (only watch out for the inevitable turns in the opposite direction if you set them to pass 270°).

thanks :)
for some of the automated movements i used the oposite option in the FX generator, to archieve that, made it more interesting, especially with different combinations here and there. :)

More pictures will follow soon,
here is a frst video link from a litte testrum, while playing around alone.
I wanna add that i played single handed whilest holding the phone to record it, so its not the best performance.. :D
