Hallo, this is my first experiance working with QLC+ and with DMX. I want to use it for some LED strips's with RGBWW. (creating some effects and just playing around what is possible)

Image (i dont know how immages work, so i used imgur. i dont know what to put in image_url)

I got this converter and it says, that it works with QLC+. However when it is connectet (wich i had too look up, but there was something connecting and disconecting when i pluged it in) nothing showed up in QLC+. and i have no idea how to connect it.

I would assume by using the DMX USB plugin, but that shows nothink. Image

I also tried using other applications and it never shows anythink. is my converter "a scam" and do i need to buy the original enttec (which is quit expensive i think.) or are there just some thinks i missed in order to use it?

Thanks and sorry for my bad grammar

Hanno, Welcome to the community,

The specs don't reveal what is inside at all. One would expect to see an RS485 or an FTDI chipset. If the latter is true, you need corresponding drivers.
Your device manager does not reveal this. It might be that the device is listed under HID (Human Interface Devices). Please have another look.
In any case, __if__ the chipset is supported by QLC+, it should work out of the box.

Thanks for the tip. I had to open it up and found out that it is in fact a FTDI chipset. After installing the corresponding driver it works! Thanks for the quick help.
