Override values in part of a scene

Hi.

Sorry I'm not exactly sure how to word this - but if a describe what I would like to do, hopefully someone can help.

Lets say I have 5x backlights and 5x wash lights in a scene, all intensity values set. (All are single channel fixtures - nice and basic).

I currently have one button in the virtual console to bring that up (easy - done).
I then want another button, that toggles just one of these sets (the wash lights) to fade up/down from as set currently, to zero when clicked (and vice versa).

Currently I just have two scenes, with all 10 fixtures values set.
But this means I have to update the values for the backlights to a specific level in both scenes, if I need to change these down the track.
I don't really want this, as if/when these levels need adjusting over time, they will need to be updated in both scenes, rather than just the main scene that has both running.

Is there a away to override whatever the washes are set to with a fade to black (or some low value) on these only, without affecting the backlights, then - when released - it returns the wash to whatever they were at before, set in the main scene?

To try and explain it another way:
Main Scene 1 - 5x backlights set to 80%, washes set to 50%
Dim Scene 2 - 5x backlights set to 80%, washes at 0%

And then - toggle between.
BUT - as I have it currently, if I later update backlights to say 70% or whatever - I don't want to have to update both scenes - just the main scene.
In the real world these are all slightly different values of course, and it's in a fixed studio environment, with many different operators running it etc.

In summary - I just want a button the pushes all the washes down to zero, and when released, returns them to as set Main scene 1, without affecting the backlight values at all.

I hope this all makes sense!!
Thanks heaps, and sorry for the poor description!

ehhm... You have to understand what is going on with the engine ... It will react to 'conflicts' in such a way that it has to decide what is more important: the brake pedal or the gas pedal...
In HTP the Highest wins the contest ... (ruling out your zero value sent)
In LTP the Latest wins ... (your zero will be sent)

Easy -> use a solo frame (all elements inside that frame will be overruled by the other element inside that frame. Moon or sun - Jupiter doesn't come in between)

Think in a layered structure - building layers upon layers...
* The master intensity should have its slider in your VC (slider in level mode)
* in a solo frame the EFX you want to call
* in another solo frame: the things you want to call on top of the already called scene, chasers, ...
If you are using HTP, the background scene will be active - as long the background values called, by other means, are lower than the effects...
